This is the first of two videos I worked on for National Apprenticeship Week 2022 on the Lower Thames Crossing project by National Highways, a government company charged with managing, maintaining and improving England's motorways and major A roads.
I took care of creating the characters of the video, done in Illustrator, and the colored pencil backgrounds, for which I used the Procreate app for Ipad.
We tried three different drawing styles for the main character, Nina, finally choosing the most abstract and minimal one.
The main character is the only one always made with a wider palette, the remaining elements (secondary characters, objects and backgrounds) are each made often with a single color in various shades, to highlight the protagonist of the video.
